What made the experience so special? Our guide, Cheyanne! Cheyanne was charming and knowledgeable! I was blown away by her knowledge of the the chefs, the local ingredients, and traditional dishes. I also enjoyed how she made me feel at home. She took the talk to everyone on the tour and learn about their backgrounds; we were shown around the city by a friend! The dishes we tried were out-of-this-world and the employees at the locations were incredibly friendly. At each stop the employees took the time to explain the ingredients, where they came from, the preparation process, and their own background. It was a certainly a highlight for me! Everything from the Bergen Fish Soup to the cheesecake and the smoked seafood to the reindeer sausage were exceptional; nothing like I had tasted before! To top things off with a local craft beer tasting was the cherry on top!Every food stop was perfectly planned. You could tell Cheyanne spent a lot of time and effort researching the locations and the dishes. I went to locations I would never of found on my own and tried foods I would never of tasted without Cheyannes guidance! I scheduled the food tour at the beginning of my trip, and Im so glad I did! I felt more comfortable touring the city on my own and thanks to Cheyannes food recommendations, I knew where to eat for my entire stay. Highly recommended! We had a fantastic time on Cheyannes tour in Bergen in July. From start to finish we found it to be very professional but also easy going and fun. Every stop on the tour was very well researched and thought out and Cheyanne has clearly worked very hard to make sure everyone's tour experience is memorable. A wide variety of things to taste which reflected Norwegian cuisine, and catered for the very adventurous to the more conservative tastes.Given the very high price of pretty much everything in Norway, we actually thought the tour represented good value for money, proving a very filling lunch (with drinks) and a walking tour of the town centre over several hours. Cheyanne was fun to spend time with and It felt like being shown around by a friend you were visiting rather than a company tour. We'd definitely recommend it.
As quaint as the walking tour was, I hardly think a small cup of soup, a cup of ice cream, a hot dog, a cracker sized cheesecake, glass of beer, and some fish samples (normally free) represent the food of Bergen and certainly don't justify the $100 cost.
This was by far one of the best food tours I have taken. We were very impressed with our guide, Cheyanne, and her knowledge of Bergen cuisine. Every place we visited had a story and amazing food to boot! I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone planning to visit Bergen!
Just amazing. A must thing to do while in Bergen. The food tour was out of this world. The food, the places I went, the information given about the food , the ingredients, the regions where some of the food came from was amazing. The walk the tour takes you is awesome. The tour guide Cheyanne was just the best. I highly recommend this. You will not be disappointed. Tourist and locals will enjoy.
